Lorica Health was established in 2011 as CMC Insurance Solutions, a commercial spin off arising out of research conducted by the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) – a $100 million Government funded research and development centre founded in 2001.
The CMCRC played a central role in the development and commercialisation of SMARTS, a world-leading surveillance solution used by financial markets regulators, exchanges and brokers across 40 countries before being acquired by NASDAQ in 2010.
Over the past four years, the CMCRC has also invested over $6 million in health system R&D through its Health Market Quality Program with the aim of unlocking the power of healthcare data and enhancing consumer choice and participation in healthcare. To date, research has focused on health policy, informatics, economics and data science. We’re also an important industry partner for the Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre (DHCRC), a seven-year, $200 million R&D institution with the aim of revolutionising the way in which healthcare is provided in both Australia and the world.
Lorica Health’s mission is to power better healthcare. Lorica Health is multifaceted, offering both global SaaS products and tailored strategic services through our Consulting and Payment Integrity Practice business units.
